WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 2, 2022) – The Rollins women's tennis team had no trouble with visiting Davenport on Wednesday, sweeping the Panthers by a 7-0 score. The Tars have now won five straight and are 5-4 on the year, while Davenport drops to 4-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- The Tars won all but three games across the three doubles matches, with Maria McKay and Kaitlynn Groves winning the clinching match in a 6-0 sweep of Louise Hosking and Kumiko Yamaguchi on court two.
Singles
- Rollins got quick wins from Erin Yaroshuk on court six and Groves on court three to take a 3-0 lead.
- Alexandra Borg won the clinching singles match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Isabella Carofano on court two.
- Polina Vlasova and Georgina Groth also won handily on courts four and one, respectively.
- Natalia Collado Cordon completed the overall team sweep with a 7-5, 6-2 defeat of Yamaguchi on court five.
UP NEXT:
The Tars will travel to Melbourne for an exhibition match with Eastern Florida State College on Friday, March 4 at 3:30 p.m. before returning home to host Texas – Tyler on March 9 at 3:30 p.m.
