COACH'S QUOTES:
"We had a good Sunday morning crowd out there today," Head Coach
Jay Friedman said after the match. "I was really proud of Denis for continuing to show his dominance over Palacios. Unfortunately we missed a few opportunities on the other courts."
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- Barry swept all three doubles matches, winning close matches on courts one and two; both of those matches finished 6-4.
Singles
- The Bucs scored points on courts five, six, and two to clinch the match.
- After Barry also won on courts three and four, fifth-ranked Denis Golubev and ninth-ranked Alejandro Palacios were the final match left to conclude on court one.
- Palacios won set one, 6-4, but Golubev bounced back to take set two by an identical 6-4 score.
- The super tiebreak couldn't be settled at the regulation 10 points, as Golubev persevered to claim an 11-9 win to take the match and earn the lone point of the day of the Tars.
