DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 19, 2022) – Rollins split a double header to salvage one game of the three game set on the road against Embry-Riddle. After falling in game one, 4-0, junior
Ashley Worrell tossed a no-hitter in the finale to highlight the day for Rollins. The Tars won the game 6-0. The Tars move to 4-2 on the year, and 1-2 in Sunshine State Conference action. The Eagles move to 4-4, and 2-1 against SSC opposition.

GAME ONE: Embry-Riddle 4, Rollins 0
Ashley Troutman led the Rollins offense, going 2-3 at the plate and swiping a base.Â
Raiven Bryant,
Chelsea Peace, and
Tristin Peace also tallied hits.Â
Emily MacMullen picked up the loss, throwing 6.0 innings, giving up four runs, three earned, and striking out seven.

Lia Johnson went 1-2 at the plate, and registered an RBI for the Eagles, while Mahaliyah Sandridge also went 1-2 at the dish, slapping a double and scoring a run. Mallory Kinahan tossed the complete game shutout, striking out two in the effort for Embry-Riddle

HOW IT HAPPENED
Second Inning
- The Eagles earned their first baserunner with a walk, but the inning ended with a strike-'em-out-throw-'em-out doubleplay.
Third Inning
- Emily MacMullen retired the side in order, as she held a no hitter threw three frames.
Fourth Inning
- The Eagles capitalized on a Rollins error to take a 1-0 lead.
Fifth Inning
- Embry-Riddle manufactured another score off a Tar mistake, making the score 2-0.
Sixth Inning
- The Tars put a pair of runners on, but could not press either across the plate in the top half of the frame.
- The Eagles capitalized on the Rollins missed opportunity to put two more runs on the board. They used a leadoff double to spark the rally, and took a 4-0 lead into the final frame.
Seventh Inning
- The Tars loaded the bases with one out in the final inning, but again, the Tars could not find a hit at the crucial moment, and they finished the contest scoreless.
GAME TWO: Rollins 6, Embry-Riddle 0
Ashley Worrell starred for the Tars in the circle, dominating the Eagles batters on her way to a no hitter. Worrell gave up just one walk and struck out five in the effort.
Jaden Walker went 3-4 with three doubles and two RBI to lead the Rollins offense.Â
Raiven Bryant and
Ashley Troutman each slapped a pair of singles and scored two runs apiece for the Tars. Worrell also tallied a pair of RBI on a 1-3 evening.Â

Gigi Auricchio, who reached on an error, and Karina Ortiz Munoz, who walked, were the only baserunners for the Eagles. Kelsi Collins took the loss for Embry-Riddle, giving up five runs over five innings. Delaney Morgan closed out the game surrendering one run over two innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second Inning
- The Tars used a two out rally to get on the board first. Ashley Troutman singled to right field and crossed the plate on a Jaden Walker double.

Seventh Inning
- Rollins added an insurance score in the top of the seventh. Walker continued her stellar play on the day, knocking a double to left field, plating Troutman.
- After Auricchio reached on an error, Worrell retired the next two batters and struck out Ashton Aycock with one runner on, to seal the win for the Tars, and her historic night.

The Tars will return to action next Sunday, February 27, when they take on Wilmington University in doubleheader action. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
