TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 5, 2022) – The 25th-ranked Tars came up short in a trip to No. 5 Tampa on Saturday, falling to the Spartans 199.5-59.5. Rollins took home five second-place finishes on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The team of Skylar Murphy, Tully Njoroge, Luke Dinges, and William Slowey earned a third-place result in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:35.89.
- Payden Knettles took third in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 10:40.23.
- Kenneth Carter was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.00) and third in the 500-yard freestyle (4:52.13).
- Murphy was runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke by just .15 seconds, posting a time of 53.53.
- Njoroge finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.08) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.40).
- Slowey posted a second-place time of 21.32 in the 50-yard freestyle, and then came back shortly thereafter to take second in the 100-yard freestyle in 48.58.
- Dinges was third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.10.
- Slowey posted his fourth top-three finish of the day with a third-place time of 4:13.77 in the 400-yard individual medley.
- Cameron Dolly, Njoroge, Carter, and Dinges capped the day with a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:12.88.
