HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
- The Tars and Bulldogs each earned their fair share of possession in the first 45 minutes.
- Rollins fired off four shots against Wingate's three, while the Tars put two on goal, and Wingate forced one save from Maximillian Obermeier.
- In the 37th minute Georgios Koliniatis delivered a long strike that looked destined to curl into the top corner, but a diving save from Jamie Boegel turned away the Tars' best chance of the half.
Second Half
- The Tars and Bulldogs both increased their offensive pressure, with each team taking seven shots in the second half.
- Rollins finally cracked the scoreboard in the 86th minute. William Centeno lofted a set piece deep into the box, which Koliniatis sent back across the goal. Mason Lamb, playing in his first official collegiate match, got his head to the ball and lofted it into the net.
- The Tars saw out the final minutes to secure the win. Obermeier finished with two saves in the clean sheet.
