WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 12, 2021) – One week after facing the No. 2 team in the nation, Rollins again tried their luck against the nation's best, squaring off with top-ranked Flagler. Rollins again hung tough with one of the best teams in the country, but the Tars ultimately fell in double overtime, 2-1. Rollins drops to 1-3-0 overall, while the Saints remain perfect at 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
- The Saint got on the board early when Josefine Nilsen gathered a pass, dribble past a pair of Tars, and slid a shot into back of the net in the 13th minute.
- The Tars best chance of the half came in the 28th minute. Briyah Drayton came streaking down the side and tried to curl a low shot into the corner, but Flagler keeper Madison North made a big save. The ball deflected to Ryland McGratty who had a chance at goal off the rebound, but North recovered to make a second stop in a matter of seconds.
- Flagler had slightly more of the possession in the first 45 minutes, and managed 12 shots to Rollins seven; however, both teams put four balls on net in the period.
Second Half
- Rollins would equalize just ten minutes into the second half of play. Bailey Tran lofted a corner kick dangerously to the back post, where Kayla Park outjumped her mark and headed the ball home, good for her first score in the Blue and Gold.
- The Tars looked eager to get a winner, but could not find the back of the net a second time, despite firing seven shots, and holding Flagler to just four, in the second half.
First Overtime
- Neither team could create a clear-cut chance in the first extra time.
Second Overtime
- Andrea Fernandez gathered a goal kick and sent a long through ball beyond the Rollins defense. Nilsen ran onto the ball and was able to slide the golden goal past Elena Beasley, sealing the Tars' fate.
COACH SAYS:
"We came back from being down a goal to equalize, which is a great sign of our ability to stay disciplined and focused. We created enough chances to beat the number one team in the country. We will develop the simple things and get ready for our next home game on Thursday." - Rollins Women's Soccer Head Coach
