LAKELAND, Fla. (April 14, 2021) – Rollins picked up their second consecutive victory, defeating Florida Southern 5-2. With the win the Tars improve to 2-4 on the year. The Mocs fall to 2-6 overall.

Mikkel Baumann and Freedy Danielson started the match with a third court doubles victory for the Tars. However, the Mocs would ultimately take the doubles points, picking up wins on the first and second courts.

Rollins picked up a win by walkover to draw the match level as singles play began. Dennis Golubev gave Rollins the lead with a comfortable 6-1, 7-5 victory on the top singles court. The Mocs picked up their second point in the number two singles spot. Â
Andrea Brignacca was unable to convert after a dominating first set performance, ultimately falling in three sets, 0-6, 6-4, 7-5.Â
Charlie Putrino, on the fourth court, and
Efe Comu, on the fifth, each overcame first set losses to help Rollins clinch the victory. Putrino defeated his opposition 2-6, 7-5, 6-1, while Comu picked up a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 decision. Baumann used a first set tie breaker to help propel him to a marathon win, besting Tim Becker 7-6, 4-6, 6-4.
