WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 18, 2021) – Rollins stumbled against the Embry-Riddle Eagles, falling 5-2 in their home opener. Rollins falls to 0-2 on the year, while Embry-Riddle improves to 3-1.

The Eagles took the doubles point, sweeping all three matches. Frederick Danielson and Mikkel Baumann put up the stiffest competition, but ultimately fell 7-5 on the third court.

Embry-Riddle captured the first three singles decisions, getting wins on the third, sixth, and second courts to seal the team victory. Denis Golubev ended the shutout with a convincing win over All-American Juan Ortiz Couder, on the top court. The freshman sailed to a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Charlie Putrino improved to 2-0 on the year with a second victory in the fourth position. The Lakewood Ranch product fought for a 6-4 first set win before dominating the second set, 6-1. The Eagles took the a three set battle on the fifth court to end the contest. Efe Comu recovered from a first set defeat to force a third, but the freshman could not complete the comeback.
