HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- Hutton Yenor tallied seven of the Tars first 11 points, as Rollins earned the advantage in the first five minutes of play. The senior tallied on a pair of driving layups, before a three pointer gave the Tars a 11-7 lead with 15:28 remaining in the half.
- The Panthers would pull in front, at 12-11, with 14:23 on the clock.
- Noble, Houpt, and Sesan Russell then found their shooting strokes for Florida Tech, and the Panthers pulled away.
- A Dayton Gumm three pointer with 3:41 left to play in the half cut the deficit to 11, at 42-31, but Rollins could not cut the lead to single digits. A pair of late Florida Tech Scores grew the hole to 16 at the break.
Second Quarter
- The Tars stayed within shouting distance for most of the second half, but could never truly cut into the deficit.
- A Gumm dunk brought Rollins with 12 with just over nine minutes to play.
- After the Panthers grew the lead slightly again another score from the senior guard brought the lead back down to 12 at the 3:13 mark, but that was as close as the Tars could get down the stretch.
- The Panthers hit their free throws late, and the Rollins offense could not bring the Tars back into the contest.
