WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 27, 2021) – The Tars could not help their postseason hopes as they fell to the Barry Buccaneers, 2-0, under the lights on Cahall Sandspur Field. Rollins drops the 7-5-2 overall, and 4-4-1 in Sunshine State Conference action. Barry improves 5-8-1 overall, and 4-4-0 against SSC opposition.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
- The Tars controlled much of possession for the first 25 minutes, but were unable to develop any dangerous chances from their control.
- Barry would grab the lead, and take control of the game, in the 29th minute. Juan Caffaro put a cross into the box and Juan Valiente got on the end of it, redirecting it beyond Maximillian Obermeier.
Second Half
- Barry would reassert their dominance early in the second period, scoring just two minutes into the half. Caffaro lofted a pass to Estafano Savietto who struck the ball into the top corner of the goal.
- Rollins pushed for much of the remainder of the half, but any chances the Tars created were denied by the Barry keeper, Nils Buecheler.
- Obermeier kept the Tars in game as long as he could, managing five stops throughout the contest.
