The Tars surrendered a late goal and fell to Nova Southeastern on the road

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (November 2, 2021) – The Tars surrendered a late goal and fell to Nova Southeastern on the road, 1-0.  With the loss, and a win by Florida Southern, the Tars will miss out on the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.  Rollins season ends at 7-6-2 overall, and 4-5-1 in conference play.  The Sharks improve to 10-3-2, and 6-3-1 in SSC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
  • Neither team could grab control in the opening 45 minutes. The Tars fired four shots, against the Sharks' three, and Rollins put one attempt on target.
  • Nova Southeastern generated more set piece opportunities, registering a pair of corner kicks.
Second Half
  • Nova Southeastern would wait until the last gasp to grab the go-ahead goal.  The Sharks earned a penalty kick with just five minutes remaining in the game.  Tino Miguez converted the spot kick to make the score 1-0.
  • The Tars were not left with enough time on the clock, and they could not find a late equalizer.
