WINTER PARK, FLA. (March 3, 2020)- Fourth-ranked Rollins had its season-opening winning streak snapped by Adelphi in the opener, but bounced back for a game two victory in nonconference action Tuesday night.
The Panthers (2-2) took the first game 5-4 with Rollins (20-1) winning 6-3 in the nightcap.

Rollins first setback of the season came in the opener Tuesday. The game was tied 1-1 heading into the seventh as AU plated four and Rollins posted three runs in the inning.
Ali Shenefield surrendered five hits and five runs while striking out nine in a losing effort. Adelphi's Ally Mulller earned the win with five hits and 11 strikeouts.
Rollins spread its five hits among five different players. Tyler Jo Colby hit 1-3, scoring one run and registering two RBIs on a homer. Chelsea Peace went 1-3 with one RBI and a double. Ashley Troutman, Cynthia Whitty and Taylor Waters also had base knocks.
Rollins got the bats rolling early in the bottom of the first. Troutman led off with a single, stole second and scored on a Peace groundout.
Adelphi tied the game up in the top of the fourth as Hannah Pineda hit a single, scoring Emily Whitman.
Seemingly headed for a third-straight extra inning game, AU scored four in the top of the seventh to blow the game open and lead 5-1. The Panthers had four hits and took advantage of a Tars error to take a commanding lead.
Colby jacked a two-run homer for the Tars in bottom of the inning to get Rollins to within two runs. Whitty got on with a bunt single, stole second and was brought in after a Waters fly out to center. Rollins, however, couldn't come up with another big hit and suffered its first loss of the season.

After falling in game one, the Tars bounced back in a big way with a three-run win.
Ashley Worrell racked up her 11th win of the season, throwing in all seven innings, with five strikeouts. Worrell also hit 4-4, scoring one run and one RBI.
Chelsea Peace went 3-4, one run, one RBI and one double. Lindsay Gehring hit 2-3 and enjoyed a two RBIs, one double night.
Rollins got on the board first with a score in the third. Talia Kentoffio singled to right field and Kara Wagstaff turned on the boosters, scoring to make it 1-0.
Chelsea Peace singled to left field in the bottom of the fourth and brought in Waters to score their second run of the game. Rollins loaded the bases later in the frame and Kentoffio drew a walk to put the Tars in front 3-0.
In the top of the fifth Rollins scored two runs on an RBI single from Ashley Worrell and two-RBI double from Gehring.
Adelphi scored their only runs in the top of the seventh, but Worrell was able to squash out any thought of a Panthers comeback.
