WINTER PARK, FLA.(January 18, 2020)- A back and forth battle all afternoon, Rollins came up three points short to Lynn, falling 132-129 on Senior Day Saturday.
Marisa Gingerich, Darrelle Pawley, Beatriz Olivieri and Hannah Brockman started the meet off by finishing runner-up in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:04.84.
Jill Hughes had a big day with two individual victories. She took first place in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:41.00. and won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:15.55. Olivieri finished first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:08.87 and also took third in both the 100 yard butterfly (59.01) and 200 yard freestyle ( 2:00.83).
Maya Thompson took first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.74. Sydney Willis earned the victory in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.42 and finished in third place in the 200 IM (2:11.68). Senior Anna Van Zyverden took second place in the 50 yard freestyle (24.98). Gingerich finished runner-up in the 100 backstroke (1:00.26) and the 200 backstroke (2:10.40) while Maia Russell finished second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:11.52.
Abby Frey finished second place in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:05.70. Abbey Autry took third in the 100 backstroke (1:02.51).
Pawley had a busy day, finishing third in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.80) and second in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.96). Alana Goodwin took third place in the 200 yard backstroke 2:14.46 and added a runner-up in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.43.
Rollins finished their last home meet of the season with a victory in the 200 yard freestyle relay as Brockman, Sam Shelly, Anna Van Zyverden and Thompson posted a time of 1:38.46.
Rollins will be back on the road Friday January 24 against Saint Leo at 3 p.m. to close its dual meet season.
