KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (September 17, 2019) – Three players shot under par Tuesday as Rollins jumped one spot into a tie for eighth to close the Kiawah Island Invitational.
The season opening even was played at Osprey Point Golf Couse on Kiawah Island.
The 20th-ranked Tars were nine shots better in the second round than the first (293-284) and tied with Limestone at one-over for the tournament. Lander was 13-under on Tuesday and won the team title at 19-under par. Host USC Aiken was second at 16 under while Lee and Mount Olive tied for third at five-under.
Trystan Perkins and Danny Taggart led the way for the Tars, tying for 10th at three-under. Perkins shot rounds of 71-70 while Taggart turned in scores of 70-71.
Will Hall had Rollins' low round, firing a four-under 68 and finishing tied for 18th at one-over (77-68).
Morgan Egloff carded scores of 75-76 (+7) to tie for 61st while Nicholas Diebel tied for 82nd with rounds of 83-75 (+14)
Rollins has a quick turnaround, playing in the Flagler hosted Jay Jennison Cup September 23-14 at the Palencia Club in St. Augustine.
