MELBOURNE, Fla. (May 10, 2019) – Rollins struggled to get runners on base Friday and dropped a 7-0 decision to Florida Tech on the road.
Cameron Montgomery went 3-3 at the plate to lead the Tars (25-22, 12-17 SSC). Luke Reidy also had a hit on the day.
Whit Drennan took the loss (2-5) while striking out 10 in seven and a third innings of work.
James Gronberg hit 2-3 with a RBI for Florida Tech (28-18, 16-11 SSC). Rodnie Bernard went 2-5 with a double and Dylan Owens went 1-4 with a double and three RBIs. Andrew Marzheuse won his eighth game of the year, fanning seven Tars in seven, scoreless innings.
Florida Tech got the first run of the game in the bottom of the third as Gronberg singled through the right side and Bernard scored.
Rollins kept is close until the eighth when Tech hung six runs and put the game essentially out of reach.
