WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 6, 2019) – The No. 16 Tars fell to Flagler on the courts at Bert Martin Tennis Complex, dropping the match 5-2. Rollins falls to 4-3 in the 2019 campaign. The Saints improve to 3-4 overall.
Rollins could not find a victory in doubles play. The Saints earned the sweep to take the doubles points from the Tars.
The Saints went up 2-0 with a fourth position win to start singles action. The Tars got their first point out of the sixth position with Marie Debruyn cruising to a 6-4, 6-3 win. Flagler won the second and third spot matches to clinch the match. Alexandra Borg fell in a three set match, as Flagler earned their fifth point. Teresa Kaiser ended the amtch on a positive note for the Tars, taking the fifth court match. The senior recovered from a first set defeat, and took a second set tiebreak in a 4-6, 7-6 (1), 10-7 win.
Rollins will look to right the ship as they take a trip across the country. The Tars take on Stanislaus State on Sunday, March 10, to start their west coast Spring Break trip. First serve is set for 3 p.m. EST.
