Rollins Opens California Trip with Victory

TURLOCK, Calif. (March 10, 2019) – Rollins started their west coast road trip with a win, defeating Stanislaus State, 4-3.  Rollins improves to 5-3 overall on the year, while the Warriors drop to 3-4 in 2019.

The Tars took two of three doubles matches to earn the vital doubles point.  Rollins took the top court match with Ola Durzynski and Teresa Kaiser teaming up for the first time this season, earning a 6-3 win.  Savanna Fuller and Carlye Goldman clinched the point for Rollins with a 6-2 second court win.

The Tars won singles matches in the fourth, fifth, or sixth positions to seal the overall win for the Tars.  Kaiser earned her second win of the day, defeating Kayla Nguyen 6-2, 6-3 in the fourth spot.  Marie Debruyn sailed home with a fifth court win, registering a 6-0, 6-1 victory.  Goldman also tallied her second win of the day, also tallying an 6-0, 6-1 win in the sixth spot.

Rollins continues their California trip with a match against Sonoma State on Tuesday, March 12.  First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. EST.
