WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 30, 2019) – Rollins could not down the No. 2 team in the NAIA, Keiser, falling 6-1 at Bert Martin Tennis Complex. The loss drops Rollins to 7-6 overall in 2019. The Seahawks improve to 14-3.
The Tars were only able to take on doubles match as Keiser took the point from team play. The Tars' duo of Alexandra Borg and Teresa Kaiser, who were ranked as the No. 27 doubles pair in NCAA Division II, defended their spot in the poll, capturing the lone Rollins win with a 6-4 result on the first court.
The Seahawks took the first three singles matches to clinch the match. Savanna Fuller tallied the only Rollins point of the match, cruising in her third court appearances. The senior outlasted her opponent on a number of long volleys, earning the 6-1, 6-3 win.
The Tars will reenter the SSC gauntlet by hosting Florida Tech at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2. The match will be the first of four next week for Rollins, as they face No. 3 Saint Leo, No 41 Palm Beach Atlantic, and No. 1 Barry all at home.
