INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 16, 2019) – Alex Norcini and Christian Huber closed the NCAA Division II Swimming Championships for the Tars with standout swims on Saturday.
Huber swam the 100-yard freestyle, his third event of the championships, and finished 25th in prelims. He posted a time of 44.25 in qualifying and was less than a second off a spot in the finals. The freshman also swam the 50 and 200 yard freestyles while in Indianapolis.
Norcini closed his busy, four-event championship on a high note, placing 22nd in the 1650-yard freestyle. He stopped the clock at 15:51.22, more than 12 seconds better than his seed time. The sophomore also participated in the 200-yard IM, 400-yard IM and 500-yard freestyle at nationals.
Led by a big group of underclassmen, the Tars will now work for a return trip to the national championship in 2020.
