INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 15, 2019) – Rollins freshman Beatriz Olivieri put Rollins on the board Friday, winning the 200-yard butterfly consolation final in dominant fashion at the NCAA Division II Swimming Championship.

Olivieri was seeded ninth coming into the championship and slid into 14th after prelim qualifying Friday morning. In the evening she came back and smashed the school record with a time of 2:00.35, winning the consolation final by more than a second. Her time ended up as the fifth fastest of the evening.
With the ninth place finish, Olivieri gave Rollins nine points and put Tars in 33rd place in the team standings.
Fellow freshman Sydney Willis continued her busy, four-event swim at the National Championship, competing in the 500-yard freestyle. The Raleigh, North Carolina native posted a time of 5:01.47 in the prelims to place 34th.
Willis will close the Tars 2019 NCAA Championship on Saturday, swimming the 1650-yard freestyle prelims. Fans can watch the action live at NCAA.com.
