INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 15, 2019) – Alex Norcini continued his NCAA National Championship journey Friday, swimming the 500-yard freestyle prelims.

The sophomore posted a time of 4:32.45 and was 25th in the qualifying session. Norcini came into the event seeded 37th and was two seconds better than his qualifying time entering the event. He was five seconds off earning a spot in the finals.
Norcini will swim the 1650-yard freestyle on Saturday, his fourth and final event of the championship. Teammate Christian Huber, who has already participated in the 50-yard and 200-yard freestyle, will swim the 100-yard freestyle Saturday. The freshman is ranked 18th in the event.
