CLEARWATER, Fla. (February 23, 2019) – The Rollins 800 freestyle relay team broke a seven-year old school record Saturday, capping off a third successful day at the Sunshine State Conference Championship.

The quartet of Beatriz Olivieri Sydney Willis, Marisa Gingerich and Makenzie Grider stopped the clock at 7:38.59. The previous school of 7:47.56 was set in December, 2012 by Audrey Kula, Maddie Minetree, Jessica Spiegel and Jenny Nilson.
Grider had a big race individually, finishing ninth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:01.01, an NCAA B cut time.
Olivieri added a fifth place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with an NCAA B cut time of 2:04.67. Cara Dealy was 13th in 2:08.86.
Darrelle Pawley took 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.36) with Jaimie Mans stopping the clock at 1:07.48 in 13th.
The Tars are sixth in the team standings with 235 points. Tampa (717) leads the way and Nova Southeastern (792) in second.
The final day of the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Championship will be held Sunday, February 24 with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m.
