Rollins Can't Match Embry-Riddle to Start SSC Play

WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 4, 2019) – Rollins didn't have an answer for Embry-Riddle's fire power Wednesday and fell 99-66 in its Sunshine State Conference opener.

The Tars drop to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in league action while the Eagles improve to 8-1, 2-1 in the SSC.

Connor Mckim led the way for Rollins with 15 points. Jakobi Bonner netted 13 and Dayton Gumm tallied 11 points.

Romero Crouch paced the high-octane Eagles with 23 points while Nick Heard went for 22. Both players drained five three-pointers. Luka Majstorovic recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Embry-Riddle outrebounded Rollins 54-25 on the night.

Rollins led early, but the tide quickly turned as Embry-Riddle caught fire from outside and put the Tars down 23-9 by the midway point of the first half.

Rollins trailed 46-24 at the break.

It was more of the same in the second and the Eagles pulled away with a solid inside-outside game while the Tars struggled from the field. Rollins trailed by as many as 38 with 8:50 to play in the game.

The Tars will look to regroup on Saturday, December 7 when they head to Tampa to take on the Spartans in another SSC match-up. Tip off is set for 4 p.m. at the Martinez Center. Fans can follow the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and locally on 91.5 FM WPRK.
