WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 4, 2019) – Rollins didn't have an answer for Embry-Riddle's fire power Wednesday and fell 99-66 in its Sunshine State Conference opener.
The Tars drop to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in league action while the Eagles improve to 8-1, 2-1 in the SSC.
Connor Mckim led the way for Rollins with 15 points. Jakobi Bonner netted 13 and Dayton Gumm tallied 11 points.
Romero Crouch paced the high-octane Eagles with 23 points while Nick Heard went for 22. Both players drained five three-pointers. Luka Majstorovic recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Embry-Riddle outrebounded Rollins 54-25 on the night.
Rollins led early, but the tide quickly turned as Embry-Riddle caught fire from outside and put the Tars down 23-9 by the midway point of the first half.
Rollins trailed 46-24 at the break.
It was more of the same in the second and the Eagles pulled away with a solid inside-outside game while the Tars struggled from the field. Rollins trailed by as many as 38 with 8:50 to play in the game.
