MELBOURNE, FLA.(November 22, 2019)- Rollins men's swim team posted a number of top finishes and sit third after day one of the Florida Tech Panther Invitational.
The Tars earned 76 points on the day behind busy days from Christian Huber, Alex Norcini and Connor Xu. Florida Southern leads the field with 125.5 points while host FT is second (96.5).
Huber was an individual winner in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 20.62. He teamed with Cruse Sweeney, Andrew Relihan and Luke Bunnell to finish in third place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.31.
Connor Xu earned a third place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:33.09 and Norcini was just .05 seconds behind in fourth.
Norcini then jumped right back in the pool and finished third in the 200-yard IM, stopping the clock in 1:55.07.
The Tars closed the opening day of the Panther Invitational third in the 400-yard medley relay. Norcini, Xu, Asa Marvel and Huber stopped the clock in 3:24.99.
Rollins will be back in the pool Saturday November 23 for day two of the Panther Invitational at 10:00 am.
