WINTER PARK, Fla. (August 31, 2018) – Rollins played University West Georgia to a hard fought 0-0 draw, Friday night at Baker Family Stadium. Rollins moves to 0-0-2 on the season while West Georgia begins the year 0-0-1.
Keeper Kelly Rowswell had three saves to help keep UWG from scoring. Junior Sarah Buckley had six shots and two shots on goal. The Wolves Katie Mitchell lead the team in shots having three and their goalie Jackie Donaldson had six had saves to end the game.
The Tars had 5 shots and 1 corner kick in the 1st period. In the second half Jill Richards had four shots and also had a corner kick that was saved by UWG. Going into over time the Tars kept fighting as they were trying to get a goal to end the game. The Tars had two shots and that forced saves from West Georgia. Kelly Rowswell had a great save before the end of the first OT. Rollins had two corner kicks toward the end of the second OT but they were turned away to maintain the draw.
The Tars return to action next Friday, when they face Tusculum in the friendly confines of Barker Family Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
