WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 9, 2017) - The
Tars responded, after dropping two of three doubles matches, coming
back to defeat No. 49 Palm Beach Atlantic, 5-4 on Sunday
afternoon. Rollins was victorious in four of the six singles
matches, boosting their record to 8-9 overall, and 2-3 in the
Sunshine State Conference. The Sailfish fall to 11-8 on the year,
and 1-5 in conference play.
The Rollins duo of Patrick
Sell and Sami
Kirberg improved to 5-4 on the year, earning a hard fought win
in the first doubles position. The pair bested Rafael Lenz and
Bernardo Ferreira 9-8 (7-3).
Sell picked up his second win of the day in the first singles
spot, recording a three set victory over Pato Zarazua 6-2, 4-6,
6-4. Kirberg also recorded two wins with a singles victory in the
fourth position, winning 6-3, 6-2. Rollins sealed their victory
with wins in the fifth and sixth spots. Daniel
Ferl managed a strait set victory in the fifth spot, defeating
Pietro de Silva 6-2, 6-3. Cody
Gubin moved to 9-4 in the sixth position with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-0
win.
Rollins returns home to conclude their regular season with a
pair of SSC matches. The Tars will take on Eckerd on Wednesday,
April 12, before hosting Florida Southern on Saturday, April 15, in
a match that was rescheduled due to inclement weather last week
