BRADENTON, Fla. (April 20, 2017) - The Tars
upset No. 26 Nova Southeastern, 5-3, to move on to the Sunshine
State Conference Tournament Semifinals. Fifth-seeded, No. 27
Rollins improves to 11-9 on the year. The fourth seeded Sharks bow
out of the SSC Tournament with a record of 9-9.
The Tars were spotted a match, due to an injury in the third
doubles spot. Senior Shannon
Etten and sophomore Carlye
Goldman captured the Tars doubles win in the second position,
besting Simone Pratt and Arina Sharonova 8-4. Rollins ended team
play with a 2-1 advantage.
Alexandra
Borg registered the Tars first singles win. The freshman
cruised past Isabella Lowery 6-1, 6-0, in the third position.
After a pair of Sharks victories tied the match at 3-3, Rollins
pulled away with wins in the third and sixth spots, clinching the

Kaiser took down Alex Kaeser 6-3, 6-1 to give Rollins the 4-3
lead, then Carlye
Goldman put the match away with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Eva
Agasse.
The Tars advance to take on top-seeded and third-ranked Barry in
the SSC Tournament Semifinals. The match is set for tomorrow,
April 21, at 3:30 p.m. The Buccaneers enter the contest a perfect
