WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 3, 2017) - As baseball
week opens, Rollins falls flat in the opening matchup against
Assumption, losing 7-0. With the loss, the Tars fall to 9-4 overall
on the season, while Assumption improves to 2-3 overall.
Brad
Case got the start on the mound Friday afternoon, his fifth of
the season. Despite striking out eight batters, Case gave up three
runs in his seven innings of work and earned his first loss of the
season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption jumped out to an early lead in the third inning,
after a two-run home run off the bat of shortstop Hunter Tralli and
the Greyhounds never looked back.
The Tars couldn't get anything going at the plate, only getting
four hits throughout the contest.
Two innings later, the Greyhounds tallied an insurance run after
stringing together a handful of hits in the sixth inning.
Assumption would go on to score another four unanswered runs in the
last two innings of the ball game to take the game from the
Tars.
