centerfielder Peter
Nicoletto was named the National College Baseball Writers
Association South Region Player of the Week for his efforts over a
five game stretch last week. The Fort Lauderdale native was
previously named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week as
well.
The senior hammered six home runs in five games last week. He
hit .522 with a .577 OBS and 1.435 slugging percentage. Nicoletto
racked up 12 hits in 23 at-bats and drove in 13 runs while scoring
11 of his own. He had eight extra-base hits on six homers, one
triple, one double while also drawing two talks.
The Tars are now 15-8 on the year, and will face off against
Saint Leo in double-header action tomorrow, March 18. First pitch
of game one is set for noon.
