Rollins Takes the First of Five with Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla. (March 15, 2017) -

Rollins racked up 15 hits and took the first of five games with Saint Leo this week by a score of 10-4.

The Tars and Lions will play one more at Saint Leo before coming to Winter Park for a three-game Sunshine State Conference tilt over the weekend.

Caleb Jacks recorded the victory on the mound for the Tars, while Grant Ashline had the big day at the plate, going 2-5 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI doubles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• A fielding error led to an unearned Leo run in the bottom of the first.
• The Tars answered in the top of the third as Nick Breen knocked Ashline in for the score.
• Another fielding error led to another Lions run and 2-1 lead after the third.
• Rollins got the run back in the fourth on a Nick Santucci RBI single that scored Brian Brooker. Dolan then put the Tars ahead for good with a two-run blast over the left field fence, giving the visitors a 4-2 advantage.
• Rollins scored one run in the fifth and another in the sixth to lead 6-2 before three-run seventh extended the Tars lead to 9-3. Teddy Meissner had an RBI single and Ashline a two-RBI double in the frame.
• Saint Leo scored one in its half of the seventh but Mike Purcell got it back for the Tars with a sac fly that scored Isaiah Russell in the ninth.
