SET-UP:
Coming in at 14-6 on the 2017 season, the Tars look to continue
their winning ways this weekend as they travel to Saint Leo
University for two non-conference games against the Lions.
Following the two-game stretch, the Tars will return home to face
Saint Leo once again for three conference matchups in Winter Park,
Fla. The Tars are coming off a win against Eckerd College, but they
dropped the series to Eckerd 2-1. The Lions are coming off a
thrilling 18-17 win over Bridgeport that took 10 innings to
finish.
TRACKING THE TARS:
The Tars dropped last weekend's series against the Eckerd
College Tritons 2-1, but won the last game of the series 9-5. Last
week, Peter
Nicoletto earned SSC Player of the Week honors and he looks to
continue swinging a hot bat. In five games last week, Nicoletto hit
.522 with a .577 OBS and a 1.435 slugging percentage. He had eight
extra-base hits on six home runs, one triple, and one double, while
also drawing two walks. Mike
Purcell is averaging .388 in 20 starts this season, with 31
hits and 13 RBI's. Brian
Brooker has been having himself a solid season on the plate as
well, batting .347 with 18 RBI's and four home runs. On the mound

Chacon lead the team in wins with four apiece. Case and Chacon
both have an ERA of 2.08, while Case has pitched 39 innings this
season, and Chacon has pitched 26.
TRACKING THE LIONS:
The Lions are coming off a huge 18-17 win over Bridgeport, which
saw Chadwick Miller walk off in the bottom of the 10th inning. With
the win, the Lions improved to 11-9 on the season. Saint Leo's last
game saw them hit doubles by nine different players, as well as
Chase Turner hit a home run. As a team, the Lions have scored 147
runs and have a batting average of .341. They have a .509 slugging
percentage and have hit 25 home runs.
NOTES:
The two-game stretch is the first road series for the Tars in
the 2017 campaign.
Rollins narrowly leads the all-time series vs. Saint Leo, with a
record of 85-82-3.
The last time the Tars and Lions met was in 2016, when Saint Leo
swept Rollins in three games.

Rollins continues their season next weekend at home, as they
host Lenoir-Rhyne. The Tars take on Lenoir-Rhyne Friday at 5 p.m.,
then again on Saturday at 1 p.m., and wrap up the weekend against
