WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 24, 2017) -
Rollins fell into a two-run hole after the first and its bats
couldn't catch up as the Tars dropped a 7-0 decision at Palm Beach
Atlantic on Friday night.
Hali
Marshall was the lone Tar with multiple hits, going 2-3 on the
day. Abigail
Sexton, Brianne
Lint, Amanda
Guglietta and Sarah
Harrison also had base knocks for Rollins (6-7, 1-3 Sunshine
State Conference).
Magnolia West led PBA (8-6, 1-0 SSC) at the plate with a perfect
4-4, two RBI night. Kayla Knight went 2-3 with three RBI and two
runs scored.
Grace
Street took the loss for the Tars, allowing six runs - five
earned - on six hits in three innings of work. Erin
Crawford and Erin
Fortney also pitched for Rollins.
Ashton Adkins and Nikki Brinegar combined for the shutout.
Adkins grabbed the win, allowing three hits and striking out six
over five innings.
Rollins left 11 stranded on the night.
The Tars will look to rebound on Saturday, February 25 with a
doubleheader at PBA. First pitch for game one is set for 1 p.m.
