ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (September 19, 2016) - The
Rollins men's golf team is nine over par and in 10th
place after day one of the Flagler hosted Jay Jennison Cup. The
event is taking place at Slammers and Squire Golf Course inside the
World Golf Village in St. Augustine.
The Tars shot an opening round 292 and dropped a stroke in the
afternoon round with a 293 to hold the last spot in the top-10 with
a score of 585. West Florida paces the field of 17 teams, sitting
12-under with a score of 564 (282-282). Barry (572) is second and
Newberry (575) third.
Sam Grindle leads the Tars, sitting in a tie for seventh. The
sophomore shot a three-under 69 in round one and shot 72 in the
second round for a three-under 141. Jakob Van de Flierdt is
one-under and tied for 15th with 143 strokes, carding scores of
71-72.
Barry Babbitt shot 74-75 and is tied for 47th at 149
strokes and Collin Engelhardt is tied for 72nd with a
score of 154 (80-74). Will Hall shot two rounds of 78 and sits in
77th with a score of 156.
Martin Sanberg is playing as an individual and is tied for
39th with 148 strokes, turning in rounds of 75-73.
Rollins will complete the tournament Tuesday, September 20.
