WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 4, 2016) - The
Rollins College softball team extended their winning streak to
eight games after securing a 5-0 victory against Palm Beach
Atlantic on Monday evening. Niki
Fogle collected her 17th win of the year after the
contest.
Rollins improves to 28-6-1 on the year while the Sailfish drop
to 24-14 overall.
Hailee
Keisling got things started for the Tars as the junior led off
with an inside the park home run in the first inning. That is the
junior's 13th RBI and second home run of the season.
After a quiet second inning, the Tars bats came alive in the
third. Courtney
Durbin singled down the right field line with the bases loaded
scoring Tiffany
Osmanski from third and Chelsea
Reed from second. Brittany
Johnson scored off a sacrifice fly from Brianne
Lint on the next play to extend Rollins' lead to 4-0.
Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, Jule
Kranz doubled to left center in the fourth scoring Keisling,
who reached on a fielder's choice.
The 5-0 lead is all Fogle needed as the senior pitched seven
complete innings allowing five hits, no runs, one walk while
striking out two in the victory.
Rollins returns to action tomorrow as they complete the weekday
series against Palm Beach Atlantic with a doubleheader. Game one is
