ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: After suffering their
first loss of the season to 13th-ranked Limestone
College on Friday night, the fifth-ranked Tars now set their sights
on back-to-back regional contests against Shorter University and
Young Harris.
Ty Thomas continues to lead the Tars in goals scored and points
accrued this season. The Winter Park, Fla. native has tallied 28
goals and three assists for 31 points. Close behind, however, is
freshman Kallie
German, who has scored 24 goals and assisted on five for a
total of 29 points. Kris
Coppolino has scored 18 goals and added four assists for 22
points. Leading the team in assists are Paige
Brock and Emily
Eddowes with eight apiece. Brock has scored eight goals for 16
points, while Eddowes has earned five goals of her own for 13
points so far this season. In all, nine players currently hold
double-digit point totals on the season.
Malorie
Olin leads the team in ground balls with 19. The sophomore
goalie has seen a total of 582 minutes between the pipes, facing
161 shots. Olin has earned 72 saves and currently holds a .581
save percentage, allowing just 5.35 goals per game as she as let in
52 goals so far this season.
Coppolino currently leads the team in draw controls with 21,
followed by Maddie
Hendren with 13. Lindsay
Van Beck leads the team in caused turnovers with 12.
Dennis Short is in his ninth season at the
helm of the Tars women's lacrosse program. He has posted a 53-17
record over the last four seasons, including a pair of trips to the
NCAA National Semifinals. He is assisted by Tom Kienle, Mike Tobin, as well as former Tars standouts
Chelsea Pinneke and Alley Rhinehart.
SHORTER AT A GLANCE: The Hawks enter into
Sunday's matchup with a mark of 3-9, and are riding a one game win
streak. In their last game, Shorter defeated Chowan University by
a final score of 15-9 on their home turf.
Leading the way so far this season is Crystal Marshall, whose
team high 36 goals and seven assists combine for a team best 43
points. Tiffany Kongpachith is next in points tallied, with 16
goals and seven assists for 23 points. Kari Chambers has earned 17
goals and two assists, while McKinley Puckett has scored 13 goals
and added three assists for 16 points on the season.
Allie Perry leads the team in ground balls with 36, followed
closely by Chambers with 34. Marshall has won a team high 48 draw
controls so far this season in 10 games. In goal, Catherine
Mitchner has faced a total of 323 shots and has made 105 saves for
a save percentage of .385. Mitchner has allowed 168 goals in 600
minutes played, averaging 16.78 goals per game.
The Hawks are coached by Brittni Dulaney, who is in her sixth
year as head coach of the Shorter women's lacrosse program.
Dulaney, a Rome native who played her prep lacrosse at Darlington
School, has led the Lady Hawks to two third place finishes in the
NWLL Championship Play-Offs, as well as was named 2011 NWLL Coach
of the Year. She is assisted by Nicole Decraene, and graduate
assistants Arielle Goralski, Lauren Persichetti, and Mia
Wiggins.
SERIES: This marks the first matchup for the
Tars and the Hawks.

YOUNG HARRIS AT A GLANCE: The Mountain Lions
enter into Monday's contest with a record of 8-4, riding a four
game win streak after defeating Tennessee Wesleyan by a score of
21-7, UVA-Wise by a score of 14-6, Chowan by a score of 23-3, and
Emmanuel by a score of 18-6.
Nicole Kernohan leads the team in goal scored with 34, and has
added five assists for 39 points. Kendra Parenteau leads the team
in overall points scored, having accrued 29 goals and 14 assists
for 43 points on the season. Leading the Mountain Lions in assists
is Sarah Bialecki, who has earned 19 assists and added 10 goals for
29 points in 12 games played.
Parenteau leads the team in ground balls with 30, while Meghan
Tonnesen leads the team in draw controls with 53. In goal for
Young Harris, Julia Darroch has seen time in 12 games, starting
11. Darroch has compiled 72 saves while facing 193 shots in 606
minutes played, and has allowed 87 goals in cage, averaging 8.61
per game.
SERIES: This marks the first time Rollins and
Young Harris will meet on the game field.
NEXT UP FOR ROLLINS: After wrapping up
back-to-back games, the Rollins women's lacrosse team will have
three days of rest before welcoming Sunshine State Conference
opponent Saint Leo on Friday, April 8. The Tars will celebrate
seniors Taylor Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Kris Coppolino, Jamie
Wadovick, Emily Eddowes, and Angelica Perdomo on Senior Day. Game
