Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed, Rollins men's lacrosse
team is primed and ready to take on No. 3 seed Saint Leo on Friday
evening. Game time against the Lions is set for 4 p.m. at the
Naimoli Family Athletic Complex on the campus of host site

ROLLINS AT A GLANCE:
Entering into the Sunshine State Conference Tournament as the
No. 2 seed, the Rollins men's lacrosse team will square up with
Saint Leo for the second time this season. The Tars are coming off
of a regular season finale that saw Rollins fall in a hard-fought
contest to then sixth-ranked University of Tampa by a score of
11-9. The loss dropped the Tars to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in SSC
play, but secured the No. 2 seed for the Tars in the SSC
Tournament.
Greg Tiacher, Carson
Buell, and A.J. Gogan led the team in goals with two apiece,
while Clay
Phillips matched the trio in points with one goal and an
assist. First Team All-SSC honoree Morgan
Baker and Adam
Stefanowicz tallied one goal apiece, while Justin
Diamond, Second Team All-SSC honoree Jack
Vonarb, and Jeremy
Slocumb each dished out an assist. In goal for Rollins, All-SSC
Freshman Team selectee William
Doyle saw a full 60 minutes of action, earning 11 saves as he
faced 36 shots.
On the season, Baker leads the team with 28 goals while adding
nine assists for 37 points. Vonarb has tallied a team best of 13
assists, with a team second-best 25 goals for a team leading 38
points overall. Diamond has achieved 20 goals and six assists, and
Carson
Buell with 15 goals and nine assists on the season.
First Team All-SSC member Alex
Petsos has won 121-of-200 face-offs for a .605 win percentage,
and a team best of 74 ground balls. Followed by Andrew
Matthews with 37 groundballs and Second Team All-SSC member Lucas
Brush with 30. Defensively, Second Team All-SSC selection Connor
McClellan leads the team in caused turnovers with 17.
In goal, Jake
Hogan has seen time in 11 games facing a total of 305 shots and
making 79 saves for a save percentage of .473. The sophomore has
played a total of 578 minutes in cage, allowing 88 goals for an
average of 9.12 per game. Doyle has faced 141 shots in six
contests, and has played a total of 245 minutes in goal. The
freshman has allowed 38 goals, averaging 9.28 per game, and has
made 34 saves for a save percentage of .472.
Chris
Lewis became the third head coach in Rollins men's lacrosse
history on June 26, 2015 after serving as the Interim Head Coach
for the final two months of the 2015 season. The 2015-16 school
year will be Lewis' fifth year at Rollins. He is assisted by Andrew
Vossler and Matt
Sweeney.
SAINT LEO UNIVERSITY AT A GLANCE: Entering
into the Sunshine State Conference Tournament as the No. 3 Seed,
the Saint Leo men's lacrosse team holds onto an overall record of
9-4 and 2-3 in regular season action against SSC opponents.
In their season finale, the Lions Saint Leo men's lacrosse team
took down Florida Southern, 9-8, in a double overtime battle.
Senior Joe Donnian led Saint Leo into overtime, by scoring a fourth
quarter goal that tied the game. Donnian also led the team with
three goals, while Jake Gilmour recorded two goals and an assist.
Freshman Justin Robinson not only finished with two goals and two
assists, but also tallied the game winner in double overtime as the
horn was about to sound. In goal, Dave Moore collected 11 saves for
the Lions in 68 minutes.
On the season, Dylan Yonts leads the team with 48 goals while
adding 11 assists for a team high of 59 points. He is followed by
Gilmour with 24 goals and a team high of 24 assists for 57 points
on the season.
Defensively, Eric Lee leads the team with 13 caused turnovers.
In goal, Dave Moore has started in all 13 contests, posting a save
percentage of .535 for a total of 121 saves.
Brad Jorgenson has been the Head Coach at Saint Leo since the
program's inception in 2005. Now in his 11th season with the Lions,
he holds an 68-59 record with Saint Leo and a career mark of
113-109. Jorgenson is assisted by Nick Cotter and John
Ortolani.
SERIES: Currently, Rollins is 1-11 all-time
against Saint Leo, earning their first win in program history
against the then No. 17 Lions on March 26 of this season when they
defeated the Lions on their home turf by a final score of
12-10.
