WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 16, 2016) - The
Tars won their second match in a row on Saturday, downing No. 38
Palm Beach Atlantic on the road, 5-1, before the rain hit.
With the win, Rollins improves to 11-6 on the year while the
Sailfish fall to 8-10.
In doubles, the Tars jumped out to a 2-1 advantage with wins in
the No. 1 and No. 3 matches. In the No. 1 spot, Shannon
Etten and Carli
Davis beat Valerie Nagovitcina and Maja Jovic, 8-5, while Emma
Wookey and Fabiana
Vitanza beat Teona Tatishvili and Michaela Mignemi, 8-4, in the
No. 3 match.
In singles, Etten beat Kathi Tesar for her ninth singles win of
the spring with Vitanza also picking up her second win of the day,
beating Mignemi in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 6 match.
The Tars' fifth point came when Johanna
Olsson beat Jovice, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) in the No. 5 match,
improving to 10-6 in singles during her junior campaign.
Rollins will be back in action on April 17th when
they travel to Barry. The match is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
