DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 12, 2016) - The Rollins College softball team toppled provisional SSC member, Embry-Riddle, on Tuesday night. The Tars defeated the Eagles 7-1 as Niki Fogle collected her 21st win of the season.

Rollins jumps to 33-7-1 overall while Embry-Riddle falls to 28-12.

The Tars got on the board first after a throwing error by the Embry-Riddle catcher allowed Chelsea Reed to score, who led off the second inning with a walk.

Rollins wasted no time to add to their lead as Brittany Johnson came up to bat in the top of the third with the bases loaded. The senior second basemen doubled to left center scoring Hailee Keisling and Tiffany Osmanski. Courtney Durbin then sent a single up the middle allowing Reed and Johnson to score to extend the Tars lead to 5-0.

The SSC Player of the Week, Osmanski, homered to deep center field to put the Tars up 6-0. With the hit, the senior set the Rollins softball program record for consecutive games with a hit (20). The Pelion, S.C. native passes Kristie Hoeffer who previously had the record with 19 games back in the 2013 season.

The Tars added one more in the sixth after Osmanski scored again on a muffed throw by the pitcher. The Eagles scored late to avoid the shutout, but it was all Rollins from the start of the game.

Fogle improves to 21-5 on the year as the senior pitched seven innings allowing five hits, one run, and one walk while striking out three.

Rollins returns to action tomorrow as they complete the weekday series against Embry-Riddle with a doubleheader. Game one is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. For the latest news, updates, and information on the Rollins softball team, fans can visit RollinsSports.com.
