WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 12, 2016) - The Tars
welcomed Wayne State to Winter Park on Saturday morning, eventually
cruising to an 8-1 win.
No. 26 Rollins jumped out to a 3-0 after sweeping all three
doubles matches. In the No. 1 spot, Anton
Bettink returned after being sidelined by an injury and teamed
with Adrian Di
Felice to beat Taylor Vane and Clement Charriere, 8-4.
In No. 2 doubles, Robin
Marchione and Ahmed
Albitar improved to 4-3 together after beating Harvey Reed and
Ryan Carlson, 8-0. In the No. 3 match, Patirck Sell partnered with
Ziad
Melhaoui to beat Mohamed Fazyl Kechai and Derek Sammons,
8-5.
The Tars went to take 5-6 matches in the singles portion of the
match, coasting to their first win of the spring.
Bettink and Sell both won in straight sets in the No. 1 and No.
2 spots, respectively, and Marchione picked up his fourth singles
win of the year, defeating Reed in the No. 4 match, 6-2, 6-3.
Albitar also won in straight sets, also his fourth win in
singles this spring, while Hayden
Rodrigue picked up his first win of the year, taking down Luke
Ruoco, 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 in the No. 6 match.
The Tars will be back in action on Sunday, hosting South Alabama
at 10 a.m.
