Rollins men's lacrosse takes the
road this weekend to face their South Region opponent and
10th
ranked Lindenwood University.
The Tars take on the Lions on Sunday at 1 p.m. Fans that can't make

ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, the Tars trailed by just one
goal entering into the final quarter, but ultimately fell to then
12th
ranked Mount Olive 8-11 in South
region play. Mount Olive led in the game in all categories, but
Rollins was very close behind.
Morgan Baker led the Tars with four
goals and an assist. Clay Phillips followed closely behind with two
goals. Jack Vonarb and Alex Petsos each scored one goal to close
out the Tars scoring effects.
In goal, Sophomore Jake Hogan
recorded 11 saves. Austin Jackson earned three ground balls, while
Nicholas Schultz and Hogan each brought in two. Leading the Tars in
ground balls was Petsos, who picked up seven as he went 12-of-21 in
face-offs.
Entering Sunday's matchup, the Tars
are averaging 11.0 goals per game, taking 36.7 shots per game and
have recorded 16 assists on 33 goals scored.
Baker leads Rollins with seven
goals and two assists, while Carson Buell is just behind him with
five goals and one attempt. Justin Diamond and Phillips are third
with four goals apiece. Finally, Vonarb has 3 goals and leads the
team with five assists.
Petsos, the programs all-time
leader in face-off winning percentage and ground balls, is 39-61 on
face-offs this season, while Connor McClellan leads the defense
with four caused turnovers. Hogan enters Sunday with goals against
average of 9.00 with 26 saves in 180 minutes played.
Chris Lewis became the third
head coach in Rollins men's lacrosse history on June 26, 2015 after
serving as the Interim Head Coach for the final two months of the
2015 season. The 2015-16 school year will be Lewis' fifth year at
Rollins.
LINDENWOOD AT A GLANCE: The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team opened
its season in Rome, Ga. with 19-7 a victory over Shorter
University. The Lions led the game in shots 37-35, ground balls
29-22, and face-offs winning 14 of 22.
Junior Josh Coons led the
Lions with four goals and two assists, followed closely by Junior
David Corazalla with three goals. Sam Heaton, Sean Darroch, and
Kevin Eskridge each scored two goals, while Max Troha, Tyler Eidel,
Connor Eskridge, Troy
O'Donnell, Jon George, and Henry Wurzer scored one goal
apiece.
In goal, Sophomore Ben Besancenez
recorded 14 saves resulting in a save percentage of .667. Connor
Laird led the team with two caused turnovers, while Tyler
Schlermann led the team with five ground balls and won 13 of 22 in
face-off attempts.
Jim Lange starts his third
season as the Lindenwood men's lacrosse head coach. Last season,
Lange led Lindenwood to its best season in program history with a
14-4 overall record, and an appearance in the NCAA Divison II
National Tournament.
SERIES: Rollins is 1-1 all-time against Lindenwood
with both games played at home.
NEXT UP FOR ROLLINS: The Tars return to action
on Tuesday, March 8, when they host Lees-McRae at Barker Family
Stadium and Cahall Sandspur Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
