COLUMBUS, Ga. (September 6, 2015) - Game two of the CSU Collegiate Invitational was much like the first for second-ranked Rollins, cruising to a dominating 3-0 victory over Newberry.

The Tars improve to 2-0 on the year and still have yet to surrender a goal. Newberry drops to 0-1-1 after the loss.

Rollins controlled the game from the start, outshooting the Wolves, 14-4, in the first half and 28-8 for the game. 18 of the Tars' 28 shots were on target.

Junior Emma Bloom continued her hot start, leading Rollins with two goals on six shots, giving her three through two games. Freshman Kathryn O'Brien accounted for the third Tars score, her first of her collegiate career. Samantha Collin recorded two assists while Mora Johnson and Megan Block both added an assist each in the win.

Rollins' suffocating defense held Newberry with just four shots on goal, making for an easy afternoon for Mary Spring in goal, who now has 23.5 career shutouts after posting two back-to-back to open the season.

Bloom opened the scoring in the 20th minute, taking a pass from Block in the box and beat Newbery keeper Alexis Carrillo inside the left post. Her second didn't come until after half, extending the Rollins lead to 2-0 in the 63rd minute. Johnson and Collin were credited with the double assist on the goal.

O'Brien then put on the finishing touches in the 82nd minute, deflecting a Collin free kick off her chest and past Carrillo for the score.

The Tars will be back in action on Friday, September 11, hosting in-state rival West Florida at 4:30 p.m. Fans that can't make it to the game can catch all the action live in HD on the Gieco Tars Sports Network on RollinsSports.com
