ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: In Thursday's season opener, the Tars jumped out to an early lead but surrendered two unanswered goals the rest of the way, enventually falling to Regis, 2-1. For the game, Regis narrowly outshot the Tars, 12-11, but took eight corners compared to Rollins' four.

Junior Tosan Popo scored the lone goal for the Tars while Matt Volk finished with three shots and an assist. In goal, Julian Grundler played the full 90 minutes for Rollins, finishing with two saves.

The Tars welcome 13 new faces in 2015 while bringing back three All-SSC performers from a year ago: Popo (first team), Grant Blackhurst (second team), and Brett Durrance (honorable mention). Durrance led the team with seven goals last season while Blackhurst was tied for second on the team with four goals to go along with five assists.

Also returning, after attending SMU last season, is junior Mark Biddinger. Biddinger played and started as a defender every game as a freshman for Rollins in 2012.

In goal, Grundler returns for his sophomore season after going 6-4-3 last year with a goals against average of 1.42 and 60 saves.

The winningest coach in Rollins soccer history, Dr. Keith Buckley is now in his 25th year at the helm of the Tars program in 2015. His career record of 285-135-27 is the 27th best in the history of NCAA Division II men's soccer and ranks 16th among active coaches. Buckley's win total is the 12th most among active coaches.

COLORADO MINES AT A GLANCE: Coming off another RMAC Tournament title last fall, Colorado School of Mines men's soccer is aiming for the top of the conference once again in 2015. The Orediggers (12-7-1 last year) look to capture their fourth RMAC title in six years. Colorado Mines earned 96 total points, including six first-place votes, to lead the RMAC preseason poll.

Senior midfielders Richard Garvey and Joe Haines join sophomore midfielder Nikolaus Grotz to form arguably the most potent attack in the RMAC. Garvey and Grotz are returning NSCAA All-Region selections.

Grotz returns after a season that saw him net nine goals and chip in eight assists for a team-best 26 points en route to RMAC Freshman of Year honors. He ranked first in the conference in assists (8), fifth in points (26) and fifth in goals (9) - all team-best totals. Grotz was also tops on the team with a .585 shots-on-goal percentage.

Garvey and Haines return with 17 and 15-points, respectively, for which they were honored as Second-Team All-RMAC selections during their junior campaign. Each scored six goals last season, while Garvey was second on the team with five assists.

Frank Kohlenstein begins his 18th season as head coach of the Colorado School of Mines men's soccer program in 2015. A six-time RMAC Coach of the Year (2000-02, 2006, 2009-10), Kohlenstein ranks as the all-time winningest men's soccer coach at Mines, holding an overall record of 203-113-32 and .629 winning percentage since 1998.
