ARNOLD, Md. (April 19, 2015) -
A second half push wasn't enough on Sunday afternoon as No. 10
Rollins fell to No. 15 Seton Hill, 11-10, to close out their
regular season. The game was played at a neutral location on the
campus of Anne Arundel Community College.
With the loss, the Tars finished their regular season with an
overall record of 11-4 and will serve at the No. 2 seed in the SSC
Tournament that opens on April 24.
Kristina
Coppolino led Rollins with three goals, her fourth straight
game with at least a hat trick, with Tyler
Thomas chipping in two goals on six shots. Coppolino also
collected six draw controls while five others scored once for the
Tars, including Emily
Eddowes who finished with a goal and an assist.
Keagan Pontious led the Griffins with five goals and an assist
with Alessandra Nicholas adding three goals. Christine Palmeri
finished with a goal and two assists.
In goal, Malorie
Olin played all 60 minutes and made 11 saves for Rollins while
Meghan Hollar finished with 12 saves for Seton Hill.
The Tars led on two separate occasions in the early going, first
taking a 2-0 lead to open the game and then regained the lead at
3-2 after Alley
Rhinehart's 18th goal of the season at the 15:54
mark of the first half.
Unfortunately, Rollins would play from behind the rest of the
way, falling behind by four goals at the half, trailing 9-5.
The Tars would rally in the second half, outscoring the Griffins
5-2 over the first 28 minutes of the period to pull all the way
back to within a score on Ty. Thomas' second of the day with 2:16
remaining.
Rollins would win the ensuing draw control but were unable to
muster a shot over the final two minutes, eventually falling,
11-10.
