Tars Win Third Straight Defeating No. 4 Nova Southeastern 4-2

WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 17, 2015) - Adam Ogburn threw 3.2 innings of scoreless relief while the Tars bats included Christian Coburn and Nick Breen each going 2-for-4 to help lift the Tars to a 4-2 upset win against No. 4 Nova Southeastern.

Rollins improves their record to 19-22 while the Sharks fall to 32-9 on the year.

After a two and a half hour delay the Tars finished off the ninth inning with Matt Hendricks earning his second save of the year.

Coburn had two hits, which included a double and a run scored. Breen added two rbi's and a double while Carlos Garmendia, Alex Miller, Zach Persky and Philip Burket contributed one hit apiece to give Rollins eight.

Matt Tulley received the start for Rollins, going two innings and allowing just one earned run on one hit. Adam Ogburn came in for relief as the righty threw 3.2 innings and allowed no hits and no runs. Matt Hendricks entered the sixth inning and threw 3.1 innings while allowing one hit and striking out six batters.

The Tars got on the board first as Nick Breen doubled to right field, scoring Alex Miller to give the Tars the 1-0 lead.

Nova Southeastern answered with two runs on one hit and one Tars error in the third inning to give the Sharks the 2-1 lead.

Rollins followed in the bottom of the fourth inning with a Nick Breen single, scoring Carlos Garmendia as the Tars tied the game 2-2.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Tars shortstop Grant Ashline stole second and Coburn stole third while advancing and scoring on an error to give the Tars the 3-2 lead.

One batter later, Garmendia reached base on an error by the shortstop as Ashline scored to make it 4-2 Rollins.

In the bottom of the eighth with two out the game had a rain delay which lasted over two hours.

Matt Hendricks stayed in the game following the delay and picked up the save to give the Tars their third straight win.

Rollins left seven men on base during the game while Nova Southeastern left eight men on.

The Tars host No. 4 Nova Southeastern Saturday for a double-header which includes Parents Day and Senior Day beginning at 1 p.m.
