WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 11, 2015) - Rollins
came from behind down 7-3 as the Tars scored six runs in the ninth
inning capped off by a Christian
Coburn double and a Matt
Hendricks two rbi single that cleared the bases as Rollins
defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 9-7.
The Tars improve to 17-22 while the Sailfish fall to 19-16 on
the year.
Adam
Ogburn came in the eighth inning and saw his first appearance
after being hurt with an undisclosed injury for the majority of the
season. Ogburn finished the game and allowed just one hit in two
innings.
Christian
Coburn went 2-for-3 with a double, two rbi, two runs scored and
two stolen bases while Zach
Persky went 2-for-4 with one run scored and Matt
Hendricks came in for a pitch hit two rbi single to clinch the
win for the Tars.
Brian
Auerbach received the start, going 6.0 innings and allowing
five runs (four earned) on seven hits. Spencer
Mumford and Patrick
Heuler came in for relief of Auerbach in the seven inning.
Grant
Ashline, Carlos
Garmendia, Peter
Nicoletto, Christopher
Corbett and Bryan
Perlmutter all added a hit for the Tars as Rollins had 10 on
the day. Ashline is 8-for-15 this week in this series vs. Palm
Beach Atlantic.  
Rollins led 1-0 in the third inning after a Ashline rbi single
scored Chris Corbett.
In the fourth inning, the Tars trailed 2-1 but came back to tie
the game after a Blake
Hutton sacrifice fly scored Peter
Nicoletto. 
PBA led the game 7-2 entering the eighth inning as Garmendia hit
a sac fly to score Coburn as Rollins trailed 7-3.
Entering the ninth inning and trailing 7-3, Bryan
Perlmutter reached on a fielding error by the third baseman,
scoring Hutton from third. Coburn came in and doubled down the left
field line scoring Corbett and Persky as the Tars cut the PBA lead
to 7-6. Matt
Hendricks entered as a pitch hitter for Peter
Nicoletto and singled to left field and advanced to second on
an error by left field, getting 2 rbi's as Ashline, Coburn and Skip
Kovar scored to give Rollins the 9-7 win.
Rollins left five men on base during the game while PBA left
five men on.
The Tars finish the four game series at Palm Beach Atlantic on
Sunday at 12 p.m.
