ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 20, 2015) The No. 18 Rollins softball team tackled Eckerd 10-2 Friday night in St. Petersburg. The Tritons would take the lead first but Rollins stormed back in a big way with an eight run sixth inning.

Hailee Keisling had a historic night, notching the first five hit performance in Tars softball history. The sophomore catcher went 5-5 in the game with a double and three RBIs.

Rollins improves to 22-4 (7-3 SSC) while Eckerd drops to 27-4 (8-2 SSC).

Eckerd's Amber Hay helped her own cause in the circle, driving in the first run of the game, with a single through the right side of the infield in the third inning.

Eckerd loaded the bases in the fifth frame but the Tars were able to escape without allowing a run.

Rollins broke the game open in the sixth frame, scoring eight runs on six hits and sending 11 batters to the plate. The big blast came in the form of Keisling's bases loaded double over the head of the left fielder, scoring Sid Masso and Jule Kranz.Three more runs scored with two outs when the center fielder misplayed Brittany Johnson's single.

Eckerd added a run in the bottom of the sixth before surrendering two more in the top of the seventh, pushing the final score to 10-2.

Fogle (W, 17-4) had the upper hand in the duel of the sixteen game winners in the circle. The junior tossed a complete game, holding the Tritons to a pair of runs on 10 hits while striking out nine.

Amber Hay (L, 16-4) tossed 5.2 innings, surrendering eight runs (five earned) on 12 hits. Janna Gaburo came on in relief of Hay, allowing two runs in the final 1.1 innings of the game.

Rollins out-hit Eckerd 15-10 on the day. Co-captain Brittany Johnson went 3-3 with a trio of RBIs.

These two teams will finish up the series tomorrow with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
