WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 1, 2015) -
The 18th-ranked Tars rebounded in a big way from
their first loss of the season, defeating No. 13 Regis at home on
Sunday in convincing manner, 17-11.
Rollins now improves to 4-1 while the Rangers fall to an even
1-1 on the year.
For the game, the Tars outshot Regis, 35-23, including 17-9 in
the first half, and collected 20 draw controls compared to the
Rangers' nine.
Tyler
Thomas had one of the best performances in the history of the
program, finishing with seven goals and an assist for eight points.
Her seven goals is one behind the Rollins single game record, a
record that she shares, and is now the third time she has scored at
least seven goals.
Alley
Rhinehart recorded a hat trick, while Taylor
Burns added a pair of scores. Kristina

Anna Takushi and Emily Behr led the Rangers with three goals
apiece while Emily Elkins finished with a goal and a game high
three assists.
In goal, Malorie
Olin earned the win, making nine saves in 60 minutes, improving
to 4-1 in her freshman season.
The Tars came out firing, scoring the games first two goals and
built the lead to 5-2 at the 14:29 mark with Rhinehart accounting
for three of the five Rollins goals.
The Rangers would fight back to pull within a goal at 6-5 with
2:36 left in the period but Ty. Thomas would shift momentum back in
the Tars' favor with two quick goals to close out the half. The
second came with just 13 seconds left after Catherine
Block caused a Regis turnover deep in the Tars defensive half
to start a Tars break and send the game to intermission with
Rollins leading 8-5.
The Tars would grow their lead to as many a six at the 18:38
mark in the second, outscoring Regis, 5-2, in the first 11-plus
minutes of the half, including three more Ty. Thomas scores.
The Rangers would eventually cut the Rollins lead in half,
pulling within three with 2:47 left, but late goals by Burns, Tay.
Thomas and Martin emphatically slammed the door on any hopes of a
comeback as the game ended in a final score of 17-11.
Rollins will be back in action on Thursday, March 5 at home,
