WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 22, 2015) -
In a game that had been circled on the 18th-ranked
Tars' schedule since the fall, a depleted Rollins team hosted
top-ranked Adelphi on Sunday but unfortunately fell to the
Panthers, 15-6.
The Tars drop to 3-1 on the season while Adelphi improves to
1-0. The Panthers outshot Rollins 28-16 for the game and recorded
15 draw controls compared to the Tars' seven.
Five players in total scored for Rollins in the loss, led by Tyler
Thomas who added a pair. Ty. Thomas now has a team best 18
goals through four games. Brittany

Burns and Kelsey
Graham each scored one goal while Angelica
Perdomo added an assist.
Alexa Froccaro led Adelphi with five goals while Jacqueline
Jahelka and Rachel O'Brian each registered hat tricks. Danielle
Jaycox had one score and a game high two assists.
In goal, Malorie
Olin suffered her first loss of her short career for the Tars,
tying a career high with 10 saves. Her counterpart, Taylor Hayes,
made eight saves for the Panthers in the win.
Adelphi accounted for the games first three scores, taking a 3-0
lead before Pinneke put Rollins on the board with 14:17 left in the
half on a free position goal.
The Panthers answered with two more before Graham scored her
second goal of the season to pull the Tars back within three at 5-2
with 8:42 on the clock.
O'Brian then made it 6-2 before Burns scored a free position
goal of her own to send the game into the half with Rollins
trailing, 6-3. The score was Burn's eighth of the year, third most
on the team.
The second half proved to be all Adelphi as the Panthers
outscored the Tars 9-3 in the period, including a streak of five
unanswered scores at one point, to secure a win in their season
opener.
Rollins will take a week off before hosting Regis on Sunday,
