ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, the then
16th-ranked Tars fell, 2-1, in overtime to Nova
Southeastern. The loss moved the Tars overall record to 9-4, and
4-3 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The Sharks opened the scoring early in the second half. Rollins
was able to equalize in the 73rd minute when Nikki
Haimes put the Tars on the board after an assist from Kat
Weiss. Regulation would end with the score still knotted at
1-1. The Sharks would end the game in the first overtime period,
finding the net just before the 95th minute.
The Tars' offense is averaging 1.667 goals per game while the
defense is surrendering only 1.25 goals per game, a total good for
fourth in the SSC.
Emma
Bloom leads the Tars' attack scoring seven goals on the year, a
total good for a tie for fifth in the conference. Freshman Kathryn
O'Brien is close behind having found the net six times and
registered an assist. Samantha
Collin leads the Tars in assists, having set up four goals on
the year.
Mary
Spring and Carly
Stevens have split a majority of the time in goal for Rollins.
As a team the Tars have made 71 saves and maintain a .807 save
percentage.
Coach Alicia
Schuck is now in her fifth year at the helm of the women's
soccer program, holding a record of 70-16-4 after serving as the
top assistant for six years. Since being promoted to head coach in
Feb. 2011, she has led the Tars to a berth in the NCAA tournament
four straight seasons and has been named both the NSCAA South
Region Coach of the Year, the SSC Coach of the Year and was named
the NSCAA National Coach of the Year in 2014.
FLAGLER AT A GLANCE: Last time out, the Saints
got a 2-1 overtime victory, defeating Lander at home. The win
moved Flagler's overall record to 7-2-1, and 5-2 in the Peach Belt
Conference.
The Saints opened the scoring early when Katie Reed got her
fourth goal of the year. The game then went scoreless for 80
minutes, until Lander equalized on a free kick late in the second
half. Overtime did not last long, however, as Flagler was able to
score from a header off of a free kick, just two minutes into the
extra period, giving the Saints the win.
Flagler's offense has been evenly distributed through the
season. Reed leads the team with four goals, but Jess Fassnidge,
Cassie Fernandez, and Abby Austin all have three goals apiece,
Twelve players have registered a goal for the Saints. Similarly,
Fassnidge, Katie Kalm, Fio Fustagno, Makensie Danaher, Frida
Lindblorn, and Brooke DeLauder have all registered two assists to
lead the team.
Rachel Cecil has played the majority of the time in net for
Flagler. She has made 26 saves and has a save percentage of .743.
Overall, her goals against average is only 1.01.
The Saints are led by head coach Ashley Martin. Martin is in
just his second year in charge of the Flagler program. In his
first year he went 4-12-1 with a 3-7-1 record in the PBC.
SERIES: The Tars are 14-3-1 all-time against
the Saints.
