ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, the Tars
fell, 1-0, to non-conference opponent, Flagler College. The loss
moved the Tars overall record to 9-5, and 4-3 in the Sunshine State
Conference.
The Tars offense struggled for the second straight match, as
they were unable to find the back of the net. The lone goal came
after the Saints were awarded a penalty kick after Courtney
Gladden was hit with a yellow card for a foul in the box.
Flagler could not take advantage on the PK, but Beate Jaeckel was
able to collect the rebound and score.
That goal would be the only one for the match as the Saints top
the Tars, 1-0. The Tars' offense is averaging 1.71 goals per game
while the defense is surrendering only 1.29 goals per game, a total
good for fourth in the SSC.
Emma
Bloom still leads the Tars' offense with seven goals on
the year, a total good for eighth in the conference. Freshman Kathryn
O'Brien is close behind, ranked 9th in the
conference, having found the net six times. Samantha
Collin leads the Tars in assists, having set up four
goals on the year.
Mary
Spring and Carly
Stevens have split a majority of the time in goal for
Rollins. As a team the Tars have made 75 saves and maintain a .806
save percentage which is second best in conference.
Coach Alicia
Schuck is now in her fifth year at the helm of the
women's soccer program, holding a record of 70-17-4 after serving
as the top assistant for six years. Since being promoted to head
coach in Feb. 2011, she has led the Tars to a berth in the NCAA
tournament four straight seasons and has been named both the NSCAA
South Region Coach of the Year, the SSC Coach of the Year and was
named the NSCAA National Coach of the Year in 2014.
LYNN AT A GLANCE: Last time out, the Fighting
Knights lost 2-0 at home against non-conference opponent,
Embry-Riddle. The loss moved Lynn's overall record to 3-11-2, while
their conference record stayed at 2-5.
The Fighting Knights were unable to put one in the back of the
net during their Senior Night. The Eagles of Embry-Riddle opened
the scoring early when Johanna Karlsson found the net off a pass
from Isabelle Haaranen in the 22' minute. That score would be the
only one in the first half, but the Eagles came out of halftime
firing on all cylinders as Andrea Froshaug added the second and
final goal of the contest just 3 minutes in.
Lynn's offense is led by red-shirt freshman, Donish Cole, and
junior, Caroline Duerr, as they both have six goals on the year.
Freshman, Emily Weisberg, is not far behind with four goals on the
season, but has contributed a team-high of four assists.
Freshman, Alexa Downie, has played the majority of the time in
net for Lynn. She has made 43 saves and has a save percentage of
.694. Overall, her goals against average is 2.03.
The Fighting Knights are led by head coach, Cally Morrill.
Morrill is in her second year of the Lynn program. In her first
year, she went 4-11 with a 1-8 record in the SSC.
SERIES: The Tars are 12-8
all-time against the Fighting Knights.
